Chris' Jazz Cafe Recap

Thursday was off the hook. For those of you who came out, we greatly appreciate you all being such a great audience. For those of you who missed the event, I will be posting photos and links to video pretty soon.

The night started out on a late note. We were supposed to take the stage at 11, but that quickly turned to 11:30. Without time to spare, we jumped right into the set. As the night progressed we performed a track with Akilles, one of Philly's dopest MCs, and did a tribute rendition of Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' for the late great Michael Jackson. We ended the night with a surprise encore performance of Eddie Henderson's Kumquat Kids. The band was blazin', and people really got down with the energy and enthusiasm displayed on stage. I couldn't have asked for a better hometown debut for the Elliot Garland Ensemble
